Earlier this year we were approached by the Rotary Club of Kyiv to see if we could provide help to a kindergarten in the Kyiv Oblast (province) in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine have introduced a law which will require all preschool children to learn English. They were looking for books and word games suitable for young children learning their first English words and phrases, so RotaryMK stepped up to help. Led by members Hannah and Marie we collected a wide selection of local donations and charity shop finds, which Hannah sorted to make sure they were suitable and in good condition. This month our first consignment arrived at the kindergarten: "The package of children's books has safely arrived at the kindergarten in Makariv. The teachers opened it and were absolutely delighted with the wonderful selection of books.

 Two brown bunnies at Thrift Farm Next week our RotaryMK club members Marie and Hannah will be taking a group of 30 nursery age children and their carers to Thrift Farm for a day out to meet the animals. This is one of our many local projects in and around Milton Keynes. Rotary Children's Fun Day provides positive experiences for some of the UK's most vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Over the last 20 years, Rotary Clubs have given more than one million disabled and disadvantaged young people the chance to enjoy new experiences, taste adventure and have fun days out. We're very proud to be one of them. Find out more from Rotary Great Britain and Ireland   On Friday 22 May 2026 we were joined by representatives and swimmers from the nine beneficiary charities of the 2026 Swimathon and Assisted Swimathon. As well as collected well earned sponsorship funds each of the charites told us about the incredible work they do in and around Milton Keynes which has a huge impact locally and further afield. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do. We were also joined by the newly elected Mayor of Milton Keynes Paul Trendall on his first public engagement who presented the sponsorship funds and trophies alongside our Rotary MK President Yogan Moodley. He has also joined us as an honorary member for the coming year.
